CONCERT AT FOXWOODS: 4,000 YOUNG FANS FLOCK TO SEE MILEY CYRUS

source: norwichbulletin.com

Miley Cyrus

There was a sea of exuberant young faces Saturday night outside the MGM Grand Theater waiting to see teen singer/actress Miley Cyrus on stage.

The 4,000-seat theater was sold out.

For many, this was the first chance to see their idol in concert. The last time Cyrus toured, tickets went quickly because of scalping. But at MGM Grand, that was nipped in the bud, Foxwoods publicist Sandra Rios said, by requiring registration to purchase tickets, which kept the price set at what Foxwoods charged — $150, $250 and $350.

Some parents came from as far away as New York and New Jersey to take their children to the concert — a trip some mothers characterized as a bonding experience that was worth the price.

“The things we do for our kids,” said Michelle Johnstone, who came with her friend, Alisa Jarski, from New Jersey.

“They work hard in school and this is their little treat,” she said, adding that Cyrus was a good role model for the young girls.

‘We love her so much’
“She’s a really good singer,” said Mykenzie Ryan of Griswold, 7. Looking over at her cousin, Chloe Ryan, 6, also of Griswold, she smiled, and added, “we love her so much.”

Many of the girls at the concert described Cyrus’ fashion sense as fun, and cool, and most agreed she is equally talented as an actress, singer and dancer. Many admired her for her role as Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel, and liked her zingers and comedic ability.

“I like her clothes and I like her singing voice, and I like all her lyrics. ... She’s a really good performer,” said Nicole Vasseur, 11, of Ellington, flanked by a group of friends — and fittingly looking forward to Cyrus’ remake of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.”

A couple of older girls, however, touched upon the controversy after Cyrus posed for the Vanity Fair cover, which some criticized as too mature for the teen.

“She’s gone through bad and good — but she’s apologized,” said Evelina Mineikyte, 15, of Stonington, who came with her friend, Kelsey Thomas, 14, of Stonington.

“We want the best for her, we hope the pressure doesn’t get to her,” Mineikyte said.

The two teenagers said more girls than boys their age were Cyrus fans — some boys considered her pretty, but not as many liked her music.

It seems Cyrus’ biggest fans, from the pre-concert crowd, were younger girls, who identify wholeheartedly with Cyrus’ energetic, upbeat music.

Claudia Plummer, 9, of Woodstock, said she was looking forward to Cyrus’ song “See You Again,” and had learned just that day she was going to the concert — which had been kept as a surprise.

“I screamed,” said Plummer, on hearing the news.

MILEY CYRUS 'ADORABLE' AS 'SATC'S' CARRIE BRADSHAW?

Will Miley Cyrus get her wish of playing a younger, cleaner Carrie Bradshaw?

News hit last week that Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell will pen a series of books for the young adult audience following the iconic Carrie in her early years.

The author herself tells E! News she doesn’t mind Miley as a potential for Carrie Jr.

“I think she’s adorable,” Bushnell told us at an intimate bash for the release of her new book One Fifth Avenue at the Salvatore Ferragamo Rodeo Drive boutique in Beverly Hills.

While Bushnell is flattered by the Miley fandom (the pop sensation has said she’d love to do a version of Sex and the City for her set), she does admit it’s a bit early on in the creative process to see who little Carrie will become.

After all, Miley would likely be pushing 20 before a single frame is shot.

“The books aren’t going to come out until 2010, so it’s just too soon to predict anything—but again, I think she’s adorable,” said Bushnell.

MILEY CYRUS IS A BIKER BABE

Miley Cyrus, sister Noah and brother Braison ride their bikes in Toluca Lake, Calif., on Sunday.

The Cyrus family stopped by Trader Joe’s for some shopping and also picked something up at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (of course!). Their ride around the neighborhood led them to Paty’s for lunch and then a recording studio.

The 15-year-old star recently spent some time with Ugly Betty actress Vanessa Williams‘ eight-year-old daughter during summer shooting for Hannah Montana: The Movie. Vanessa said, “Not only did she go to work and meet Miley, Billy Ray invited her over to the house. So she hung out with Miley, went in Miley’s bedroom!” What a thrill!

MILEY CYRUS AND JUSTIN GASTON ENJOY DINNER DATE ALL TO THEMSELVES

source:  aceshowbiz.com

Miley Cyrus

They keep adding fuel to the romance rumors, being spotted having a dinner date at Table 8 in Los Angeles on Thursday night, September 25 for themselves to enjoy.

Parents of Miley Cyrus were nowhere to be seen when the Disney starlet was seen enjoying a dinner date with her rumored boyfriend Justin Gaston Thursday, September 25. The pair were photographed at Table 8 in Los Angeles, enjoying a dinner all to themselves.

For the night date, Miley wore a black tank top and jeans and was seen totting around a Louis Vuitton hand bag. Justin, as usual, kept it simple, wearing a black v-neck t- shirt and dark jeans.

Miley and Justin's Thursday dinner date was the many times in a row that they were spotted together since she was photographed taking the underwear model to attend a Sunday service at a church in Pasadena, California back on September 14. There has yet official confirmation from them or their people on the status of their close relationship.

Miley, in the meantime, is waiting in anticipation for her upcoming 16th birthday celebration. She's been planning to host the so-called "Miley's Sweet 16 - Share the Celebration" at California's Disneyland on October 5 for friends and fans to attend. Tickets to the event were sold out almost immediately after announcement was made about the celebration in late August. Concerning the big celebration, which is sponsored by Disney, it has been confirmed that the park will be shutting down early on October 5 to accommodate Miley and the partygoers.

BUYER BEWARE: MILEY CYRUS'S BIRTHDAY TICKETS

Miley Cyrus fans are going crazy over Miley’s Sweet 16 birthday party at Disneyland, October 4. But ticket buyers beware; you may be in for a surprise when you arrive at the Hollywood-style red carpet event if you are not the original purchaser of the ticket.

The exclusive event featuring the Hannah Montana star sold out almost immediately. According to the LATimes.com, the general public snatched the 5,000 available tickets at $250 a pop. Wannabe moneymakers immediately put the prized “Miley Cyrus Sweet 16 Birthday Party” tickets up for sale on eBay with prices starting at $500 each.

However, the Anaheim theme park has put in effect strict anti-scalping procedures designed to prevent reselling of tickets at online auction sites such as eBay, the LATimes.com reported.

Such procedures include, according to the LATimes.com: issuing tickets the day of the event to the original purchaser after 2 p.m. at the main gate; the original purchaser must provide a confirmation letter, identification, and signature at the check-in booth in order to receive the tickets; everyone attending the event must be present when the tickets are issued; a Disneyland employee will escort the group into the theme park.

And she was allowed to take Sasha - her daughter with ex-husband Rick Fox - along with her.
The Ugly Betty actress says, "Not only did she go to work and meet Miley, Billy Ray invited her over to the house. So she hung out with Miley, went in Miley's bedroom."
Sasha even found a playmate in Miley's little sister Noah. Williams adds, "They used the swing by the creek, and we went on 4x4s."

MILEY CYRUS AND JUSTIN GASTON'S EXCURSION IN UNIVERSAL CITY

They had another modest excursion at Universal Studios and Universal Citywalk in Universal City on Wednesday, September 24, and were accompanied by her parents and sister.

Apparently the rumors that claim Miley Cyrus and Justin Gaston can't help staying away from each other are true as the rumored lovers were seen spending time together again at Universal Studios and Universal Citywalk in Universal City on Wednesday, September 24. They were joined by the Cyrus' clan, including Billy Ray Cyrus, Leticia Cyrus, and Noah Lindsey Cyrus.

Miley wore a black t-shirt and a very short jeans. She also sported a headband and totted Louis Vuitton hand bag. She beautified her look, wearing various bracelets around her right arm. Justin, on the other hand, wore his favorite white v-neck t-shirt and paired it up with jeans. He was seen wearing a cross necklace and bracelets on each of his arms.

Miley's parents and sister also wore casual outfits. Enjoying their excursion very much, the companion also talked to approaching fans and paparazzi. Miley was snapped during the outing sharing a huge laugh with Justin as they were joking. She was even spotted giving Justin a friendly tap on his shoulder. The companion's outing in Universal City is videotaped in the footage put at the end of this news.

The day before, September 23, Miley and Justin were also seen spending time together. They were photographed attending The Pussycat Dolls' show at the Hollywood and Highland Center. Despite the mounting rumors to the contrary, neither of them has officially confirmed that they are dating.

JOHNNY DEPP, MILEY CYRUS, AND OTHER STARS SHOW FOR THE UNVEILING OF DISNEY'S UPCOMING MOVIE SLATE

source: EW.com (Entertainment Weekly-PopWatch)

SCREENSHOT FROM THE MOVIE 'BOLT' STARRING JOHN TRAVOLTA AND MILEY CYRUS

Disney just can't get enough of Johnny Depp. At yesterday's Walt Disney Studios Showcase, an all-day extravaganza of film previews and casting announcements, Disney revealed not one, not two, but three new projects for Depp. Dick Cook, the studio's chairman and the event's emcee, labeled the roles the "Depp trifecta." Might as well call it the "Depp monopoly."

First up is Tim Burton's live-action/CG adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, in which Depp has been tapped to play the part of the Mad Hatter. The movie is scheduled to be released in 2010.

Then, as the USC Trojans marching band played the finale of the William Tell Overture, Depp appeared on the Kodak Theatre stage dressed in his Jack Sparrow outfit and holding the Lone Ranger's mask. With just a few words of explanation, Cook confirmed it: Depp will star in a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean installment, as well as a Lone Ranger movie in which the actor will play the title character's sidekick, Tonto.

But the day wasn't all about Depp. Also stopping by to support their upcoming projects were Jim Carrey, Nicolas Cage, Robin Williams, John Travolta, Sandra Bullock, Dwayne Johnson, Tim Allen, Miley Cyrus, and the cast of High School Musical 3. Plus, there was a major casting announcement involving Oprah Winfrey. All of the juicy details are after the jump.

Let's split the Disney news into three categories: animated movies, live-action movies, and Jerry Bruckheimer movies (because, really, they're their own genre anyway).

Animated Movies

  • Disney screened its November toon, Bolt, in its entirety. Although the film was only 80% complete and contained many unfinished shots, the audience seemed to eat it up. Playing particularly well were two supporting characters: Mittens, a snarky street cat, and Rhino, a hamster with uninhibited enthusiasm.
  • John Lasseter showed a teaser for the next Pixar production, Up. The film, which is scheduled for May 2009, follows 78-year-old Carl (voiced by Ed Asner) as he travels the world in his balloon-powered flying house. The movie gives off a definite Hayao Miyazaki vibe, and it's bound to be compared to Howl's Moving Castle, which also featured an elderly protagonist and a transportable house. Up will be Pixar's first 3-D feature.
  • Oprah Winfrey will voice Eudora, the mother of the main character in The Princess and the Frog (December 2009), which marks Disney's return to hand-drawn animation. Set in New Orleans, the movie will feature six songs written by Randy Newman.
  • Director Robert Zemeckis and star Jim Carrey were on hand to vouch for A Christmas Carol (November 2009), which is being filmed with Zemeckis' favorite toy, performance capture, thereby enabling Carrey to play Scrooge at five different ages and all three of the Ghosts of Christmas.
  • The release of Pixar's Cars 2 has been moved up a year to Summer 2011.
  • And, yes, Toy Story 3 is coming. It'll be in 3-D and will focus on how the toys adjust to life after their owner, Andy, leaves home for college.

Live-Action Movies

  • Director Kenny Ortega and the cast of High School Musical 3: Senior Year presented some razzle-dazzle footage from the October movie. Strangely, Ortega did all the talking while his hot, young stars stood silently by his side.
  • When presenting the Robin Williams and John Travolta buddy film, Old Dogs, Dick Cook swore the title didn't refer to the ex-Miramax presidents Bob and Harvey Weinstein.
  • John Travolta (again), Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence, and William H. Macy talked about Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride. Things got awkward when Travolta and Lawrence admitted they hadn't read the film's script yet.
  • Sandra Bullock plugged the romantic comedy The Proposal; Dwayne Johnson charmed his way through a presentation of the remake, Race to Witch Mountain; and George Lopez described Beverly Hills Chihuahua as the "Citizen Canine" of dog movies (get it?).
  • And Hannah Montana: The Movie is a reality. Miley Cyrus performed a song from the movie, and it's going to take more than a tablespoon of gingko biloba for me to remember anything else about the song.

Jerry Bruckheimer Movies

  • Bruckheimer and Nicolas Cage announced a trio of collaborations. First was (no surprise) National Treasure 3. Then out of left field came The Sorcerer's Apprentice, a live-action adaptation of the famous Mickey Mouse segment in Fantasia. Cage will play a New York sorcerer who, you guessed it, has to find an apprentice. Finally, there's G-Force, which is about a team of genetically enhanced guinea pigs that has to save the world. When it came time to describe the movie, it was painfully obvious that Bruckheimer was reading off a teleprompter.
  • We got an early look at Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which featured a ripped Jake Gyllenhaal as the lead. It seems the movie will stick fairly close to the plot of the video games, and time travel will play a significant role.

Finally, we saw the Comic-Con footage of TRON 2, which is going by the impossible-to-pronounce TR2N. I didn't know which category to place the movie because it looks almost entirely CG-animated, but a live-action Jeff Bridges shows up at the end. The scene contained a nifty update of the "chicken race" from the original TRON, and it felt simultaneously futuristic and retro.

'TWILIGHT' STAR KRISTEN STEWART, SHIA LABEOUF, ELLEN PAGE ALSO MAKE HOLLYWOOD COUNTDOWN.

They're young, they're attractive and, according to this year's "25 Under 25: Hollywood's Hottest Young Stars" list, they are the hottest young things in Hollywood.

This year's list includes bombshell beauties Megan Fox, 22, and Scarlett Johansson, 23, and acknowledges the new wave of adorably dorky comedians like Michael Cera, 20, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (a.k.a. McLovin), 19. Household names like Miley Cyrus, 15, "High School Musical" star Zac Efron, 20, and "Gossip Girl" Blake Lively, 21, round out the list.

"There are several returning people, but what's really exciting is there's this whole new crop coming up," Moviefone Editor in Chief Scott Robson told Reuters. "We look at what they've done in the past, but we're mostly concerned with what they have coming over the course of the next year and where it positions them," he added.

Emma Watson, 18, is on the list, as well as Dakota Fanning, 14, who's been making headlines for her role in the dark indie flick "Hounddog." Also making the cut is former "Mean Girl" Amanda Seyfried, 23. Along with her role in the HBO series "Big Love" and her recent star turn in "Mamma Mia!," Seyfried also has a few movies lined up, including one with fellow list-maker Fox.

Burgeoning action stud Shia LaBeouf, 22, charted again after making his first appearance on the list last year. Also returning to the list are British actors Keira Knightley, 23, and Daniel Radcliffe, 19.

Other stars worthy of the "Hottest Under 25" title include "Twilight" actress Kristen Stewart, 18; Oscar-nominated "Juno" lead Ellen Page, 21; and fellow Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan, 14, who received a nod for her role in "Atonement."

MILEY CYRUS NOT TRYING TO GET FIRED FROM 'HANNAH MONTANA'

source: FoxNews.com

Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus has denied rumours that she’s deliberately trying to get fired from Hannah Montana—the show that launched her.

The rumours began when Cyrus bragged that she would get fired, making it clear she wants to focus on singing and not the show.

According to TMZ, Cyrus and her country singer father Billy Ray Cyrus have been turning up late at the Hannah Montana set, stalling production and annoying the cast and crew.

Cyrus’ father has been spreading the word around the set that he and Miley will do 12 more episodes and then they are out, sources told TMZ.

However, Cyrus has denied the reports, stating that she intends to continue working with the show that made her an actress and is excited about the upcoming episodes.

"I am fully committed to Hannah Montana. It's what gave me this amazing opportunity to reach out to so many people," Cyrus told FOXNews.com through her representative.

"I’m really excited about our new season. We are making great new episodes that I can't wait for our fans to see and I'm looking forward to the Hannah Montana movie that will be out in the spring,” the representative added.

'Sex And The City' author Candace Bushnell wants teen sensation Miley Cyrus to play the young Carrie Bradshaw if her prequel novels are turned into movies or TV shows.

Bushnell has just signed a deal to pen two teen novels about her character Bradshaw's high school years and she'd love for Cyrus to take the lead in a TV or film spin-off.

When asked to name her new Carrie - a part Sarah Jessica Parker has played on the big and small screen - Bushnell said, "I don't know... What about Miley Cyrus?"

And it appears Cyrus is game - in a recent interview she said, "I'd love to do a younger, cleaner version of Sex And The City."

MILEY CYRUS'S ATTEMPT TO 'BREAKOUT' FROM HANNAH MONTANA

source: the Muhlenburg Weekly

By: Alex Nagorski

Millions of die-hard fans, millions of various mass-produced memorabilia being sold, and millions of dollars: this is the empire that is Miley Cyrus. At only age fifteen, Cyrus has become more than a household name, but an international superstar, as well known as Madonna or The Beatles.

As the most profitable cog in the Disney machine, Cyrus' past year shot her from sitcom star to A-lister. Side effects included being caught up in an infamous Annie Liebowitz shot photo-shoot for Vanity Fair (which was the magazine's highest selling issue of the year) that parents worldwide boycotted and still complain about.

She's also been a tabloid favorite, with pictures leaking online every few weeks of what seem to be Cyrus in scantily clad or sometimes see-through and wet attire. She's even been criticized as a horrible role model for the simple fact that she said Sex And The City was her favorite television show. And then people wonder why child stars are so messed up.

July 22 saw the release of Cyrus' new album "Breakout," a title very fitting as it is her first full-length solo release not attached to her Disney character persona, Hannah Montana (the previous "Meet Miley Cyrus" album came as part of a double CD on the second "Hannah Montana" soundtrack).

At first listen, you acknowledge the cheesy, fun pop that the record is, but it doesn't immediately click why parents are paying thousands of dollars for tickets on eBay so their kids can see her live. And then it hits you: despite everything she's been through, Cyrus is still trying to prove she is just an average fifteen-year-old girl.

With everything that's happened, she could easily pull a Britney Spears and sing songs complaining about the paparazzi and her unfair representation in the media. Instead, she opts to sing about teenage relationships and simply growing up, becoming a much more relatable and personable image in the eyes of her core tween audience. When talking to MTV News, she said the album was "for every teenager, or any woman in general. Most of the songs are for girls who hate their current or ex-boyfriends."

Taking a page from Hilary Duff's self-titled album, Cyrus' record creates an edgier, rockier, and rawer sound for the pop star. In place of dance beats, there are now electric guitars, and rather than synthesizers, drums overpower the production of most of the songs (even the final track on the album, the "Rock Mafia" remix of her previous album's break out single "See You Again," transforms the song from a club inspired dance floor hit to an infectious pop/rock anthem).

Her lyrics, although very cliché and non-complex, show a much broader range of emotions, dealing with heartbreak, anger, excitement, fear, and sorrow.

The album opens with the Katy Perry penned title track "Breakout," a song about being young, rebellious, and a heartbreaker who likes to have fun. It's a curfew defying track that basically defines what it means to be a teenager with a thirst for independence, a.k.a. every parent's nightmare.

The track is followed by the album's kickoff single, "7 Things," an early Ashlee Simpson inspired song that practically sums up the entire teen flick 10 Things I Hate About You in under four minutes. In it, Cyrus rocks out about all the things about her former flame (Joe Jonas perhaps?) that bother her, with the last thing being that she "loves" him. Although it comes off as a bitter breakup song, it's actually rather sweet as the song concludes with her listing all the reasons why she does love him.

Following soon after is her cover of Cyndi Lauper's 80's classic "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." The song blends in nicely with the themes of liberation that Cyrus' record is trying to convey, but the song itself is hardly mediocre. In her defense, it is extremely risky to cover such a beloved and culturally renowned song, so she deserves credit for trying.

That being said, however, there is no fathomable way that the song will do for Cyrus what it did for Lauper. Her way of contemporizing the track is by (surprise!) having it arranged to be a pop/rock number, which almost seems like it's trying to negate the pure pop perfection of the original. Note to Cyrus: the candy-coated bubblegum aspect of Lauper's version is what made the song so huge in the first place. There's a reason it was a Cyndi Lauper and not a Blondie song.

Although Cyrus' version isn't terrible, it's not a cover that will by any means outweigh the original. Instead, it will just be grouped with Lindsay Lohan's version of Stevie Nicks' "Edge Of Seventeen" as another half-decent attempt to take a classic song and unsuccessfully re-work it for a new generation. Cyrus gets an A for effort, but not for quality.

The standout track on the record is "Wake Up America." The song doesn't pop out because its' got the catchiest tune, but because of its' lyrical content. Rather than complying with the broken-hearted and teen angst-filled themes of the rest of the album, the song steers directions to talk about the environmental state of the nation. What? Miley Cyrus the environmentalist? I was shocked too.

In it, she sings, "everything I read global warming going green, I don't know what this means but it seems to be saying wake up America, we're all in this together, it's our home so let's take care of it." Now, I'm not entirely sure what she means by "global warming going green" and admittedly so neither does Cyrus.

However, she sounds convincing enough, especially as she continues to sing, "everything you do matters in some way. I know that you don't want to hear it, especially coming from someone so young, but in the back seat they want to hear it!"

It's a valiant effort, but the song has a lot more potential than it actually delivers. Although Cyrus should be applauded for using her celebrity status to try and make a difference, even if she doesn't really understand exactly what it is that she's singing about.

Like many starlets before her, Miley Cyrus is a Disney star with a mission to transcend boundaries to become a pop icon. Though she is not one of the most talented singers vocally, there is no question that she knows how to market herself and release an album that compliments her voice.

Songs such as "Full Circle" and "Goodbye" for instance, are guaranteed to break the Top 20. There's no way that she could ever release anything similar to an Aguilera record, but by intelligently redirecting herself down the pop/rock route, Cyrus is a shoe-in to at least be the next Avril Lavigne, if not even bigger than that.

The album overall is nothing mind-blowing or original, but it is a fun pop record that will surely have thirteen-year-olds all over the world singing into their hairbrushes and begging for more. I'm not going to lie, this CD definitely qualifies as a guilty pleasure that I won't skip over when my iPod plays one of its' tracks on shuffle.

Though not even sixteen-years-old yet, Miley Cyrus is already performing at stadiums and venues that artists who have been around for decades could never dream of playing at, let alone selling out in a matter of minutes after tickets go on sale.

With this new record, Cyrus has solidified herself as a name that will not be off the top of the charts (or the gossip blogs for that manner) for many, many years to come.

source: thebosh.com

"Miley Cyrus is about to take her career in a whole new direction," says Klang, 23. "I've been writing with that in mind. I would love to do a song with her."

He says he already has the perfect song for the 15-year-old Disney Star.

"I wrote a song called 'Rebelling' that I feel like would fit her," he says. "Especially for a singer that's in the limelight at such a young age, she's eventually going to hit a point, like Britney or Lindsay, where she needs to go out and rebel."

MILEY CYRUS' RUMORED BOYFRIEND CODY LINLEY SPEAKS OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP

source: aceshowbiz.com

The actor said he and Miley are "very, very close, and there is a connection", but didn't openly admit that they're dating.

Talks have been mounting that Miley Cyrus and Cody Linley are dating, but according to him they're just close friends. He opens up about their relationship to Life and Style magazine.

Miley and Cody, who plays her on-screen flame on "Hannah Montana", sparked dating rumors after they were seen leaving his Los Angeles apartment late at night on September 2. The co-stars were snapped as he drove her away from his L.A. pad. At that time an onlooker said, "Cody opened the door of his Mustang for Miley, who had a huge smile on her face. She couldn't keep her eyes off him."

Miley herself has previously expressed her crush on Cody, saying "He is so much fun to look at. He's really fun and down to earth. And he's hot!"

In a recent interview with Life and Style magazine, Cody explained that the day when they were seen together at his apartment they, along with his roommate, "all painted", insisting "We splatter-painted. He went on telling the magazine that he and Miley are "very, very close, and there is a connection" adding "Yeah, I think that's all I can say."

No words from Miley about her relationship with Cody, but it is widely believed that she began dating the boy after splitting from Jonas Brothers' Nick Jonas.

MILEY CYRUS INTERVIEWS FATHER, SISTER, AND DOGS ON LATEST YOUTUBE VIDEO

source: www.aceshowbiz.com

In their latest "Miley and Mandy Show", the best pals interviewed Billy Ray Cyrus and Noah Lindsey and then gave them gifts for participating as their special guests.

Miley Cyrus and her best pal Mandy Jiroux have something new on their latest YouTube video, an interview with the Disney star's sister, famous father and their dogs. Having them as guests, Miley starts off the show, saying "We are here right now to introduce one of the biggest, upcoming stars in the world. Everybody, let's introduce Miss Noah Cyrus."

She went on to joke about herself, telling Noah "It must be so hard growing up with a sister in the spotlight and everybody always getting on her case. And the sun never shines on the Cyrus family" before then asked her, "What keeps you grounded?" Also interviewing the family's dog, Miley and Mandy even had subtitled translations for their barks.

At the end of the so-called "The Miley and Mandy Show," the girls had Miley's singer father Billy Ray Cyrus performing an impromptu acoustic song from his latest album. They later presented Noah and Billy Ray with two gifts for participating as their special guests. "This looks identical to the one that Mario Lopez's mother gave to me," Billy Ray jokingly said.

The latest "Miley and Mandy Show" that features Noah and Billy Ray can be watched in the video below.

TIMBERLAKE, CYRUS AMONG THE STARS AT FASHION ROCKS

source: New York (Associated Press)

Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus and Charlize Theron were among the celebrities who appeared at the fifth annual Fashion Rocks concert celebrating the relationship between music and fashion.

They walked the red carpet Friday night at Radio City Music Hall amid a media circus angling for glamour shots of other stars including Fergie, Rihanna, Chris Brown and the "Gossip Girl" gang.

Brown, the R&B heartthrob, soaked up all the attention with a smile as he showed off his dapper ensemble of a black vest and shirt, gray pants, shiny shoes and diamond stud earrings.

"To be a musician and a great entertainer, you have to be a trendsetter. To be a trendsetter, you have to know fashion — and I have fun with it," explained the singer, who later changed into khakis and a black shirt and scarf for a performance of his hit song "Forever."

The event will air Tuesday in a two-hour special on CBS. Proceeds will benefit Stand Up To Cancer, a program established by the Entertainment Industry Foundation to raise money for cancer research.

Stand Up To Cancer held a live telethon that aired simultaneously on ABC, NBC and CBS on Friday night.

Fashion Rocks provided a live feed to the fundraising show of a performance of more than a dozen divas — including Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Natasha Bedingfield, Fergie, Rihanna and Cyrus — who gathered on stage to sing their new charity song, "Just Stand Up." Theron and fellow Oscar winner Hilary Swank introduced the ladies' collaboration.

Bedingfield said she lost her grandmother to the disease several years ago, and was thrilled to share the spotlight with the other singers.

"This is the first time we're all together singing the song," she said backstage. "It was really special. It was really like a sisterhood, like a bond. ... We're all used to being the stars — the only star in the room — and it was really nice I think that everyone could just come together and really support each other."

Other performers included Timberlake, Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Duffy, the Pussycat Dolls and the Black Eyed Peas.

A highlight was Timberlake and Beyonce's sizzling duet of "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing," which channeled the soulful sound of the classic song's original singers, Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

Stars mingled and sipped cocktails backstage in the green room, where Leighton Meester of the CW teen drama "Gossip Girl" and her actor-beau Sebastian Stan hung out before she introduced Duffy's performance of "Mercy."

Meester's "Gossip" co-star Chace Crawford chatted up actress Hayden Panettiere, who embraced her rock-star side in a silver Ferragamo minidress and black heels.

"I usually try to mix class and then really funk it out," Panettiere said of her personal style. "It's rock meets class. I try — not always succeed, but I try."

MILEY CYRUS SPLASHES OUT ON 'BAD' CAR AHEAD OF HER SWEET 16TH

source: nzherald.co.nz

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has splashed out on a US$75,000 car for her 16th birthday.

Miley - who reportedly earned US$18.2 million last year - is treating herself to a "fully loaded" white convertible Mercedes Benz to mark the milestone on November 23.

A source said: "Miley wanted special options like parking assist and a cream-coloured leather interior, so she ordered the car early. She is telling everyone that she hopes to get a car when she turns 16, so when it comes, she can say it was a surprise from her parents."

Miley - the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus - recently revealed she wanted a "bad" car to celebrate turning 16.

She said: "I definitely want to get something bad on the road, big enough for all my friends and to scare all the cars away from me. I'm a good driver but it's everyone else that I'm worried about!"

Miley is set to celebrate her birthday at Disneyland, California, and is selling $250 tickets for the bash to raise money for Youth Service America.

Meanwhile, it has been claimed 7 Things - which appears on Miley's current album Breakout - was written about her split from Jonas Brothers singer Nick Jonas.

The catchy track, which features the young star detailing the seven things she hates about an unnamed ex-boyfriend, includes the lyrics: "Your friends, they're jerks/When you act like them, just know it hurts."

Miley parted ways with Nick in 2007 after two years together.

Earlier this year, 15-year-old Nick insisted the song wasn't about him, saying: "My friends aren't jerks."

However, Brett Ratner - who directed the video for 7 Things - revealed the necklace Miley wears in the video was given to her by the boy she sings about.

He said: "She is wearing his diabetes or medical necklace. You can tell by the lyrics that they're very personal. The stuff she talks about in the video is clever and emotional and fun at the same time."

Nick has Type 1 diabetes and campaigns to raise awareness about the disease.
