MILEY CYRUS "PARTY IN THE U.S.A."

Miley Cyrus gave fans their first taste of "Party in the U.S.A." over the summer at the Teen Choice Awards, and now the singer/actress will offer a sneak peek of the song's video Wednesday on "Dancing With the Stars."

In a message on her Facebook page, the singer told fans, "Breaking news! A sneak peek at the world premiere of Miley's new music video for "Party in the U.S.A." will be airing this week during the live 3-night 'Dancing With the Stars' premiere! ... More details to come."

MTV News has confirmed the details of the sneak peek, which, according to Miley's reps, will be an exclusive 90-second version of the video airing during the show Wednesday. The full-length video will be available online.

"Party in the U.S.A." is an all-American song, and so I come out tonight and I'm literally in a trailer park. It's a blinged-out trailer park," she explained to MTV News about the performance before the show. "I'm like, 'This is to represent where I am from.' I'm so proud of it. All the girls trying to be Hollywood and stuff with their big glasses, me shooing them away. I love it. It's about my roots."

PROTESTORS: MILEY CYRUS IS GOING TO HELL!

source: thehollywoodgossip.net

The hate-filled crazies are back.

In July, at an Adam Lambert concert in San Jose, a group of protestors rallied and chanted about the singer's homosexuality. It was a pathetic display of close-minded bigotry.

Now, in the same city, the awful human beings have returned. This time, their target is Miley Cyrus.

Presumably because the singer wears somewhat revealing clothing, one man actually taunted a bevy of Miley's fans and screamed: Ask your parents where you're going when you die. Miley is going to Hell when she dies.

We wish we were kidding. See for yourself:

MILEY CYRUS LASHES OUT AT THE PAPARAZZI

source: aceshowbiz.com

Miley Cyrus takes aim at paparazzi who always follow her whereabouts by writing a short post on her Twitter that read, "Being a paparatzi is the most DISGUISTING job imaginable." She goes on writing, "Being followed around by creepy photographers is NOT in the job description! YOU try being stuck inside cuz creepers are waiting for u."

Notwithstanding her rant, Miley was photographed smiling toward paparazzi as she made her way out of the City Wok in Studio City, Calif., after lunching with BFF Mandy Jiroux on Monday afternoon, September 21. The 16-year-old Disney star dressed casually during the outing, sporting a white top matched with black colored pants and a pair of black boots.

Back on Thursday, September 17, Miley Cyrus was seen attending 2009 VH1 Divas held at NY's Brooklyn Academy of Music. She was seen arriving at the event's red carpet wearing a Dsquared2 gown which was paired with YSL pumps.

She later had a wardrobe change when she took the stage, performing her hit song "Party in the USA
." She opted to wear a custom corset dress made by Simone Harouche, Chanel gloves and Isabel Marant shoes.

DVD REVIEW: THE WORLD ACCORDING TO MILEY CYRUS

source:  blogcritics.org

By:  April Pohren

COVER: "THE WORLD ACCORDING TO MILEY CYRUS"
COVER: "The World According to Miley Cyrus" DVD

The rise to stardom and pop princess has been a fast one for a young Tennessee girl who goes by the name of Miley Cyrus. For Miley, it appears as though stardom was born and bred within the teen sensation since within her mother's womb. With the "one hit wonder" Billy Ray Cyrus as her father and the fact that one of country music's most famous voices and faces, Dolly Parton, is her godmother, is it any wonder that the girl knows a bit about music?  As though having an incredibly promising and talented voice isn't enough, Miley Cyrus also displays an exceptional talent for writing and acting, which is delightfully apparent in her recordings, her sitcom Hannah Montana, and her full-length movie, "Hannah Montana: The Movie".

Through all of of this and the rapid rise of fame, it amazingly appears as though Miley is a fairly well-rounded individual who has, thus far, managed to escape that out-of-control phase that several young teen idols have gone through these past few years.  As a parent, this is a rather reassuring thing, knowing how easily young girls are affected by what they see and hear and how much they want to imitate those they idolize.

In this unauthorized story, "The World According to Miley Cyrus", Miley is compared to a young Judy Garland. Though incredibly high praise, this just doesn't seem to ring true to me and seems a bit of an odd comparison. However, there is also mention of the similarities between Miley, on her sitcom "Hannah Montana", and Lucille Ball. This seems, to me, an excellent comparison. I had never thought of these two as similar until it was mentioned in this video. They do share a delightful comedic talent that reaches out to grab the viewers and display some similar characteristics in their physical comedy.

This unauthorized DVD takes the fans and viewers into the world of Miley Cyrus. It tells of her ups (her hit TV series "Hannah Montana") and her downs (her controversial picture in Vanity Fair), her romances, and the average, everyday fun she loves to partake in. This is a girl who openly admits to having the best of both worlds and realizing she has been blessed.

Also, throughout the video are clips of interviews with fellow "Hannah Montana" cast members, family, and friends. Through this film, the viewer is given a feeling for who Miley really is. She is incredibly talented in her ability to write, perform, and act and seems as though she truly can accomplish whatever she puts her heart, soul, mind, and hard work into.

I also believe that Miley is a great role model for young girls today. She seems to have virtues and truly cares about her fans and being a good influence. Yes, she's growing up and may make choices that all parents may not agree with, but she is only human, does make mistakes, and will learn from them just as we all do.

As the mother of a seven-year-old daughter who has enjoyed Miley's alter ego "Hannah Montana" for a couple of years now, we both enjoyed this DVD. It was fun, engaging, and showed that there is a real person behind all of those flashbulbs and glaring lights.

In addition to Miley's story, the DVD includes bonus snippets of peeks into the lives of singer-songwriter Chris Brown, actress Dakota Fanning, and the beloved Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens of "High School Musical" fame.

Miley Cyrus kicked off the U.S. leg of her 2009 Wonder World Tour in Portland, Oregon last night.  (September 14)

Kicking off her 2009 Wonder World tour in grand fashion, Miley Cyrus took to the stage in Portland, Oregon on Monday night (September 14).

The “Hannah Montana” darling pulled out her hits for the first of what’s a 45-city concert schedule finishing off in Miami, Florida on December 2nd before a short jaunt overseas in Europe.

Getting a few jitters ahead of the night’s gig, Miley tweeted, “Listening to Metro Station from backstage. First shows are always the best/worst. Best because all excitement & anxiety is released on to stage for the first time. Worst because wardrobe changes don’t always go as planned.”

Next scheduled to take the stage in Seattle on Wednesday (September 16), Miley showed her graciousness to fans in Oregon following her night onstage, writing, “Thank you and good night Portland.”

MILEY CYRUS CHANNELS BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN

Miley Cyrus brought out her inner Bruce Springsteen when she shot the video for her new single, "Party in the USA".  With a massive American flag as a backdrop - Bruce stands before a flag on his Born in the USA album cover - Miley danced in her short-shorts and cowboy boots while confetti fell from the sky.

The video was shot in Los Angeles, fittingly on September 11.

In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com last month, Miley's dad Billy Ray said he supports his daughter 100 percent and just wants her to "have fun" with her career.

MILEY CYRUS MAKES HER VMA PREDICTIONS

MILEY CYRUS MAKES HER VMA PREDICTIONS

Miley Cyrus may be up for an award herself at the 2009 Video Music Awards this Sunday, but that doesn't mean the "7 Things" singer and "Hannah Montana" star isn't afraid to weigh in on the big battles brewing for this Sunday's big show: the fights for VMA supremacy between Lady Gaga and Beyoncé, and between Eminem and Kanye West.

Cyrus is placing her bets and taking sides — well at least in the girls' fight for Moonmen. "Beyoncé is just, like, a living legend," the 16-year-old told MTV News about why she thinks that B should take home more trophies than Lady Gaga. "So, that's why I feel like everything she is up for, she so deserves it."

Now, what about the guys? Well, it seems that Cyrus is less discerning and can't pick one over the other as easily. "Kanye and Eminem — I don't know who I think would win. I like both their music a lot," she explained. And with four nominations each, they very well could take home an equal number of prizes.

But Cyrus, who also happens to be a budding clothing designer when she's not topping the box office or the album charts, very easily picked who she thinks will be the best dressed of the night: the always avant-garde Gaga.

"You never know what Lady Gaga will wear," Miley said. "That's what I love about her. She's always surprising people, and she definitely gets mad respect for that."

MILEY CYRUS SAYS "THE PRESS ISN'T RESPECTFUL OF ME"

source:  sawfnews.com

Talking to CNN in the midst of a rehearsal for her 2009 Wonder World Tour, Miley asserted that the press hasn't been fair to her.

Referring to the recent controversy surrounding her pole dancing at the Teen Choice Awards, which had become an instant YouToube sensation, Miley was asked if she believed the press had been respectful of her.

"No," said Miley categorically. "I think the media always tries to, kind of, overdo it."

Miley's father, Billy Ray Cyrus, had come under attack when he justified Miley's pole dancing saying she is an entertainer.

"It is really no one else's business how my parents raise me," Miley says. "I have one of the best parents in the world. I have a much more open relationship [with them] than a lot of my friends have."

"I do love performing and entertaining, so I would not give up that for anything."

As to her tour show, Miley says:

"It is more or less a mature show…it's edgy and it's rock and roll, but is so young," says the 16-year-old superstar of her show.

Miley's tour kicks off on September 14, 2009 in Portland, Oregon and spans 45 dates across North America.

MILEY CYRUS, JOHNNY DEPP, JOHN TRAVOLTA AND NICOLAS CAGE SURPRISE AT "D23 EXPO"

source:  freedomblogging.com

JERRY BRUCKHEIMER, MILEY CYRUS, AND NICOLAS CAGE AT THE DISNEY D23 EXPO SEPTEMBER 11, 2009
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, left, Miley Cyrus and Nicolas Cage at Walt Disney Pictures Presentation at Disney's D23 Expo on September 11, 2009 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

Johnny Depp, Miley Cyrus, Nicolas Cage and John Travolta joined the chairman of  The Walt Disney Studios on stage at the D23 Expo today to offer a sneak peek at upcoming Disney blockbusters.

The surprise appearances of the A-list stars caused a frenzy inside the Anaheim Convention Center. None of the stars, except Cage, were announced in advance, but rumors had swirled before the event, which drew more than 2,000 to the arena.

We here at Around Disney would like to show you some of what caused the frenzy, but Disney Studios didn’t allow cameras or audio inside. They were so worried about images leaking out, in fact, that they confiscated cell phones on the way in.

The loudest screams came when Depp emerged at the end in full costume and spoke in character as Jack Sparrow to promote the upcoming “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Strange Tides,” the fourth in the blockbuster franchise. That movie is due out in 2011.

Depp mumbled a few words as he stepped off of a replica pirate ship. But his voice was drowned out by the screams of fans as a big screen showed a closeup of his face, proving it was truly him.

He stumbled toward the studio chairman and asked about the whereabouts of the frog — referring to an early appearance by Kermit the Frog and the Muppets (who also will make another film under the Disney umbrella).

“I like frogs,” Depp said, with his classic faux-British accent, picking at his pirate teeth. “They taste like chicken.”

Depp also has signed on to play Tonto in “The Lone Ranger,” also due out in 2011.

Studio chairman Dick Cook made several announcements about upcoming movies, many to wild cheers from the audience. (More of those details to come in this blog.)

Cook was joined on stage by, among others:

  • Miley Cyrus: who wore white shorts and boots and sang her hit song “The Climb” with a live band. She talked about her role in the upcoming film “The Last Song,” which she just wrapped. And said she’s “looking forward to reading the book” it’s based on.
  • John Travolta, Kelly Preston and daughter Ella Bleu: all of whom will star in the film “Old Dogs” with Robin Williams. That movie is due in theaters in November.
  • Nicolas Cage: who will star and produce in “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” inspired by  the Disney classic “Fantasia.” (Due out in 2010).
  • Director Robert Zemeckis: who talked about the Thanksgiving release, “A Christmas Carol” in 3D, starring Jim Carey.
  • Director Tim Burton: working on “Alice in Wonderland” in 3D.
  • Producer Jerry Bruckheimer: working on “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” a movie based on a popular video game, starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

“I can’t believe it. Johnny Depp is the greatest — ever,” said Jennifer Blair, 14, still shaking from excitement as the event concluded. “And Miley, too. What a great day!”

MILEY CYRUS DOESN'T "REALLY HAVE TIME FOR A HUGE RELATIONSHIP"

source:  aceshowbiz.com

PHOTO: Miley Cyrus (as her character Ronnie) while on set during filming of "The Last Song".

"There's a lot of people I'm supposedly dating these days. But I'm just kicking it right now, I don't really have time for a huge relationship. There's no dude," Miley Cyrus tells Access Hollywood's Tony Potts when asked if she is currently in a relationship with someone. When pressed further about her Twitter updates, many of which are about love, the Disney star argues, "I'm the queen of corny quotes. I Google love quotes, happy quotes, sad quotes, I just like quotes. I don't want to write, 'I'm eating a cookie.' I think that Twitter could be used for so much more."

The 16-year-old actress-singer then continues discussing about living her life as a famous entertainer. "I work a lot harder than a lot of people my age, I would say, but everyone has their own challenges. This is something that comes easily to me. I think of high school and I'm like 'Aghh!' I couldn't do it. I think this is easier than going to a normal high school," she explains.

On top of all, Miley concludes "As you get older, I've been able to work a little harder, and like, building things, things I never would have had the confidence in myself to do before. I would have said, 'I don't know if I want to do that' - now I'm able to have the confidence."

Speaking of her upcoming fall tour, she gushes to
Access Hollywood, "You have to see the show. It's things that I never could have done before," before than adding that she and the crew were "driving tractors, motorcycles".

MILEY CYRUS #1 ON DVD SALES CHART

source: examiner.com

By: Michael McGuire

MILEY CYRUS AT THE 2009 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS

"Hannah Montana: The Movie" spent its second week at the top of the DVD sales chart, according to Rentrack Corporation.

Miley Cyrus’ summer theater hit fell out of Rentrack’s Top 10 rental chart, suggesting most fans would rather own the DVD than simply rent it for an evening.

Miley’s next movie is "The Last Song".

We will have an opportunity to get a sneak peek at what the movie is about on Sept. 8 when Grand Central Publishing releases "The Last Song" by Nicholas Sparks.

The author has worked closely with the movie project and it may give us more of an idea what to expect.

Here is the description of the plot:

“Seventeen year old Veronica "Ronnie" Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father...until her mother decides it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story of love on many levels--first love, love between parents and children -- that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that love can break our hearts...and heal them.”

Sparks gave producers the okay to move the story to Georgia.

The book is 400 pages in length and retails for $24.99, but the Hannah Montana Concert Tour store is selling it for $14.99.

MILEY CYRUS' TWITTER: AN APPRECIATION

source:  newsroom.mtv.com

By: Kyle Anderson

MILEY CYRUS

Twitter is a curious thing. Sometimes it lends a great deal of insight into the way somebody's day-to-day mind works. It can be a great platform for comedy, but it can also be a bottomless pit of inanity. But recently I've been following a particular feed that I find endlessly fascinating, and it belongs to Miley Cyrus. Her feed gets updated five to eight times a day, and most of them are filled with genuine human insight and surprising levels of sadness.

The first thing that struck me is how mundane her life appears to be (or at least the things she chooses to tweet about). But it doesn't come across as a famous person narcissistically gazing into her own navel and declaring everything about her life interesting — rather, they are the dispatches of a 16-year-old girl trying to find her way (which, if you recall, is exactly what she is). "Making dinner. AKA a peanut butter and jelly," reads a tweet from yesterday. She even tags it with a smiley-face emoticon. As one of the most famous people on the planet, you would assume that she has a private chef at her beck and call ready to prepare a shark steak sandwich for her. But no! Sometimes being 16 and famous means making yourself a PB&J in the wee hours of the morning.

Miley's Twitter also reveals excellent musical taste. She tips her hat to Ryan Adams, Coldplay, Colbie Caillat, Copeland and Vampire Weekend, all in the span of a handful of tweets. But she's also not self-conscious about her choices, as she recently praised Celine Dion.

But the thing that really cuts deep is the profound amount of existential angst that regularly sneaks into her tweets. Just today, she wrote "I can't remember the last time I felt beautiful. Ugh. I hate being a girl sometimes." Elsewhere, she talks about loneliness in very frank ways. "I feel so yucky today. Intense rehearsals are starting up and I have the worst head ache. I just wanna be cuddled." A few days ago, she tweeted, "'There falls no shadow where there shines no sun,'" a quote from English writer and philosopher Hilaire Belloc. It's a loaded line tweeted by a girl having to deal with the ups and downs of being a teenager in an extremely public setting, and in those quiet moments alone she thinks about the same things non-famous 16-year-olds do.

Miley Cyrus certainly comes across as grounded in public, but because she is somebody who was essentially born famous, it can be difficult to figure out what is real and what is a construction (ironically, she has the same problems in her real life as her character Hannah Montana). But her Twitter humanizes her in ways that no other medium does. I'm convinced that once she grows up a bit and is allowed to make more "adult" music, she's going to turn out some truly incredible stuff that will mine the depths of her own condition in a shockingly honest fashion (I imagine her taking the reverse trajectory of Liz Phair, where her fifth album is raw and all about her real-life love drama).

Until then, she's earned a follower not by being famous but by being real.

MILEY CYRUS IS OFFICIALLY A "DIVA"

Miley Cyrus from her performance at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards.

Perhaps the only space in which getting dubbed a diva doesn't come off as a pejorative, VH-1 Divas is quickly approaching, with its new crop of famous ladies, and new host: now-former American Idol judge Paula Abdul.

Of potential interest to fans of divas and their trade: Miley Cyrus is among the new class, which also includes Abdul's fellow Idol-ers Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks, as well as U.K. belters Adele and Leona Lewis. They are among the performers who will take the Divas stage in New York on Sept. 17; the performances will be telecast live on VH-1 at 8 p.m. Central.Previous performers on Divas, which first came on the scene in 1998, include Aretha Franklin, Cher, Whitney Houston and a few folks Nashville-reared Cyrus may know: country stars Faith Hill and Shania Twain. The Divas special, as with the other installments, will raise money for VH-1's Save the Music Foundation, which supports music education in public schools.
